I'm thinking about replacing my G1900 mower with a zero-turn model. My G1900 has been well maintained, has 600 hrs., new battery, new blades, 60-inch deck, and is in very good condition. Can anyone help me decide on an asking price. I'm located in Northern VA (Washington, DC metro area). Thanks

Since the advent of the sub-compacts garden tractors resale has taken quite a hit. You might also want to look at trading yours. ....

What's a subcompact tractor? Are you saying that people who want/need a 60-inch mower, buy a subcompact tractor? Local dealer said I should be able to get close to 5K; if it were on his lot, he would price at 5.5K and sell for 5. I'm thinking I'll advertise for 5 and sell for 4.5K. He said I would be much better off selling than trading on a new mower. This dealer sold me the G1900 and he has seen it, so he knows what kind of condition it's in. ....

Looks like mine except for the 54 vs. 60-inch deck. I believe the G1900 engine is rated at 21HP, not 18--but I could be wrong. ....

I don't know where exactly you are in N.Va, but if you're willing to drive West a few miles there are a number of tractor dealers in the Warrenton and Culpeper areas that will trade on used machines or sell on consignment. ....

I'm in western Fairfax Co. Byrd Tractor in Manassas (where I bought it) will take it on a trade, but trading is not as good a deal as selling on my own--same as with used cars. Better to sell it, and apply the proceeds to the new unit. ....
